Chris Krueger, Board President

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2015

Christopher Krueger is a member of the Leadership Team at cStor, headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ.  He leads an account management team that consults to private- and public-sector clients. Since joining cStor in 2004, he has held multiple roles in sales/marketing contributing to cStor’s continued growth in cybersecurity, digital transformation, and data center consulting.

Prior to cStor, Chris worked with Compuware. Before Compuware, Chris led a team for eFunds (now FIS Global) focusing on strategic relationships and initiatives for key international clients, with a focus on major financial institutions in Mexico.

Chris has been an active member of InfraGard since 2010, including serving on the Board of Directors until early 2018. In 2015, Chris graduated from the FBI Citizens Academy. He also participates in the Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance (ACTRA).

Chris graduated as the president of the English Honor Society from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. As a lifelong learner, Chris completed the Global Leadership Program at Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ. Several years later, Chris completed the Strategy & Innovation Program at The MIT Sloan School of Management, in Cambridge, MA.



Kristi Lee, Immediate Past President

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2012

Kristi has an extensive business background in marketing, retail, and business strategy with 34 years of experience in corporate America and private consulting. Previous corporate experience includes responsibility for product and marketing decisions for more than 2,300 Albertson's Food and Drug stores in 38 states, and negotiations with national brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Proctor & Gamble, Maybelline and Revlon.

Kristi is a Sales Trainer for C-Level Executives, sales teams & entrepreneurs throughout the United States.  She specializes in helping individuals and corporate teams learn proven sales & networking systems to peak perform. In 2010, Kristi co-authored the book License To Dream – Every Woman’s Guide to Financial Freedom Through Network Marketing. She and her co-authors excel at teaching women how to step through limiting beliefs and build successful businesses.

Kristi was one of the Founders of ACEL (Asian Corporate & Entrepreneur Leaders), a non-profit organization dedicated to developing emerging leaders in Arizona.  She helped create the Professional Development and Mentorship programs as well as serving as Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors for 4 years. She has served on the FBIPCAAA Board of Directors since 2016 and most recently as Board President from 2017 through 2018. In 2011, Kristi was the recipient of the Positively Powerful Woman Award for Non-Profit Leadership.


 

Charles Smith, VP Operations

Charles R. Smith is a business, real estate and estate planning attorney in Tucson, Arizona with over 30 years experience in representing an economically and culturally diverse clientele.  He and Carol, his spouse of 38 years, have two married adult children (a son, Chuck, and a daughter, Cathy).  Charles was born in 1960 and grew up in Winona, Minnesota, attended high school in Amarillo, Texas, obtained his bachelor's degree in accounting from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and is a 1986 graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law.  In addition to devoting his time to work and family, Charles enjoys travel as well as community service and involvement.  He works with numerous non-profit organizations, and is active in local and state bar associations working to improve the legal community.  He presently serves on the editorial board of The Writ, the official publication of the Pima County Bar Association, and also is a volunteer lawyer for Southern Arizona Legal Aid.  As a 2016 graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy for the Phoenix Field Office, he was honored to become a life member of the FBI Phoenix Citizens Academy Alumni Association, began service a member of the FBIPCAAA board of directors in 2016 and currently serves as its Vice President of Operations.  In 2017, Charles was appointed to the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association's General Counsel Committee and he also proudly assists the FBINCAAA communications team.

 


Ellen Andeen, VP Treasurer - treasurer@fbipcaaa.org

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2017

Ellen Andeen is a Senior Account Executive with Ally Bank servicing the Automotive & Recreational Vehicle Industries.  Ally Bank has a long history in the automotive industry originating as the captive finance company for General Motors 90+ years ago.  Ellen has been with Ally since 2013 and in the same industry since 1995 starting with Ford Motor Credit Company.

Ellen Andeen recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Arizona Eller College of Management receiving an MBA and invitation to join the prestigious Honors Business Fraternity,  Beta Gamma Sigma.  Ellen’s background is Accounting & Finance with a Sales & Marketing focus.

Ellen Andeen is a native of Arizona, specifically the Town of Paradise Valley, where she is a Volunteer with the Paradise Valley Police Department. In September 2018, Ellen was elected to serve on the Paradise Valley Town Council.

 


Miguel Fernandez, VP Secretary

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2017

Miguel Fernandez is tenured faculty of Composition and Literature, and Faculty Liaison for Student Veterans, at Chandler Gilbert Community College.  He was the 2012 Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Community College Educator of the Year and a recipient of the 2015 Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation Recognition Award for his work with student veterans.



Debbie Young, Director Membership & Alumni Relations - membership@fbipcaaa.org

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2008

Debbie graduated from the FBI Citizens Academy in 2008 and is a life-member of the Phoenix Chapter of the FBIPCAAA.  She joined the FBIPCAAA Board of Directors in 2018 and she is currently serving as the Membership Chair.

Debbie has 29+ years of Industrial Security experience working with various U.S. Government customers.  Prior to working with defense contractors, Debbie was in the U.S. Air Force assigned to the White House Communications Agency.

Debbie is currently the Western Region Security Compliance Manager for Honeywell International, Inc.  She has been an NCMS, Inc., The Society for Industrial Security Professionals member for 25 years and is a founding member of the Valley of the Sun Chapter.  She served on the national Board of Directors for nine years in various roles to include Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Marketing & Publicity Chair, and Awards Chair.  She also served on the National Seminar Committee as Volunteers and Giveaways Chair and Entertainment Chair.



Karen Ortega Matson, Director Strategy & Initiatives

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2014

Karen Ortega Matson is the owner of REMAX RIGHT CHOICE and specializes in the Northwest Valley, North Central Phoenix, Moon Valley and the Desert Ridge areas. She has lived in the Northwest Valley and North Central Phoenix area her entire life and is a 3rd generation Phoenician. She is the daughter of retired Phoenix Police Chief Ruben Ortega, very active in several Valley charities and is the "go to" person if you are looking to sell or buy in the Valley. Karen currently lives in Arrowhead Lakes and has personally sold more homes in Arrowhead Lakes than any other single real estate agent in the past 3 years. Karen is a highly experienced negotiator.

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2017

Jennifer Hall is a healthcare compliance professional who moved here from Oregon in 2010 with her husband to enjoy the abundant sunshine.  She worked as a Medical Laboratory Technician for 12 years in the areas of microbiology, hematology and immunology before returning to school to obtain her degree in Paralegal studies.   Her background led her into the quickly expanding field of healthcare compliance, where she continues to work today.

Jennifer joined the Board after graduating the Academy in 2017.  Prior to this position she has volunteered at numerous animal welfare organizations in the Valley.

Aaron is a Systems Engineer at Honeywell and exceeds at evaluating and implementing processes. He is a Six Sigma Green Belt and has a heart for giving back to the community.



Bao Hoang, Director Community Outreach

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2012

Bao Hoang was born and raised in Sioux City, IA.  He graduated from California State University Los Angeles and is currently in the Human Resources field at Sunfare; a gourmet food delivery service.  

Bao has been active with the community at large serving for over 5 years with groups such as the National Association of Asian American Professionals.  He has been volunteering with non-profit organizations around the valley for over 10 years.

Bao is also an active foodblogger on www.AzCulture.com under the name Bo Bites and publications like VietLifestyle Magazine.  He is currently a Yelp Elite Black Badge holder. 



K Royal, Director Community Outreach

K Royal is an attorney and compliance professional with 25 years of experience in the legal and health-related fields, which provides her a thorough perspective when implementing or overseeing programs globally. She has a particular interest in technology along with its challenges and opportunities. She is skilled in privacy laws, breach management, compliance, training, and program development. As an adjunct professor at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, she is helping to energize our newest professionals and is also in the dissertation phase of her PhD in Public Affairs.

As an attorney, she has been recognized as a Forty-under-40 honoree for Phoenix, as an educational leader through the YWCA, one of the top pro bono attorneys in Arizona, Member of the Year for the Association of Corporate Counsel (43k members globally), and most recently named an Outstanding Women in Business by the Phoenix Business Journal. She received her law degree from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, her nursing degree from the University of West Alabama, and is in the dissertation phase of her PhD from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Her areas of work mainly center around privacy and health care regulatory law, while her personal loves are civic education, youth outreach, diversity initiatives, and leadership training.



Pat Phillips, Director of Communications

Distinctive higher education professional with over 20 years of experience managing cross-functional teams, workflows and system analysis, regulatory and institutional compliance, quality assurance, and record integrity in the Registrar, admissions, student financial services including Title IV, and IT support services areas.


Rodney Wacker, Director Marketing & Sponsorship

As the owner of Celestial Care, Rodney is responsible for the overall operations of the company. Working with a highly dedicated and professional team, Celestial Care is proud to be recognized as both a “Provider of Choice” and “Employer of Choice” in the home care industry. Prior to Celestial Care, Rodney was a consultant with Management Action Programs for 18 years. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Arizona in 1973, Rodney worked in public accounting as a CPA for Coopers & Lybrand and then as a vice president for Arizona Industrial Machinery. He is a current member and past president of Executives Association of Greater Phoenix and has served on various not-for-profit boards in his career.



Mara Thill, Director

Graduated Citizens Academy Class of 2018

Mara is the Chief of Staff for the office of Ambassador Barbara Barrett (Former U.S. Ambassador to Finland) and Dr. Craig Barrett (Former CEO and Chairman of Intel Corporation). Mara has held leadership positions for more than 25 years in event management with a focus on Trade Shows and Corporate Events around the world. She opened the first US/Mexico Trade Show registration company in Mexico and later added a translation services company to supply language support for American exhibitors in Mexico. She is an avid supporter of education and community outreach and enjoys volunteer work at BASIS Charter Schools, The Sandra Day O’Connor Institute, The Bush Center, The Smithsonian Institution among others.

Mara graduated from Anahuac University in Mexico City with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Hospitality and also holds an Executive Education certificate from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
