**NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR CLASS 2019**

FBI PHOENIX CITIZENS ACADEMY CLASS OF 2019 - GUIDELINES FOR NOMINATIONS

The next FBI Citizens Academy classes will be held on eight consecutive Tuesdays (Tucson) and Thursdays (Phoenix & Flagstaff) beginning February 7, 2019 and ending March 28, 2019 (5:30pm to 9pm).    

Nominations for the Year 2019 class may be submitted by past and/or present FBI employees, Citizens Academy graduates, or any individual wishing to self-nominate.  Individuals nominated must be in good standing in the community.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A recognized business, religious, or community leader
  • Live and/or work within the Division's jurisdiction
  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Must consent to a limited background check, to include fingerprint check
  • Agree to attend all sessions with no more than one (1) excused absence

To nominate a candidate (or self nominate), please click on the link below to access the Nomination Form and provide a narrative stating the reasons for nominating the candidate (or yourself).  If you plan to nominate more than one candidate, please make copies of these forms. Please note: The selection process is highly competitive, and not all nominees will be selected.

Selections of the final candidates for the Year 2019 class are to be determined by the field office.  

Attendees in the Flagstaff Resident Agency will participate via video conference.

At the conclusion of the program, graduates are encouraged to join the FBI Phoenix Citizens Academy Alumni Chapter (FBIPCAAA) for the purpose of strengthening relationships and improving understanding between the FBI and the community.  Graduates, while not official spokespersons for the FBI, may be called upon to share their understanding of the role of federal law enforcement, specifically the FBI.

There are two ways to submit your nomination form and narrative:

Forms must be mailed to the FBI Phoenix Division, Attention COS: Jane Bjornstad 21711 N. 7th St., Phoenix, AZ 85024, or scan/email your completed form to: jfbjornstad@fbi.gov
