Speaker Bio


SSA Ben Perez-Martinez served the FBI for 22 years and recently retired on July 31st.   Over those 23 years, he has had the opportunity to serve in Modesto CA, Aguadilla PR, Tucson AZ, Monterrey Mexico and Santiago, Chile.  SSA Perez-Martinez is a Certified Hostage / Crisis Negotiator and an FBI Adjunct Faculty teaching Interview and Interrogations, Hostage / Crisis Negotiations and Kidnapping Investigations.  While in Monterrey, Mexico, SSA Perez-Martinez negotiated over 75 kidnappings and oversaw over 300 kidnappings as the Kidnapping Coordinator for LEGAT Mexico City.  SSA Perez-Martinez international experience includes; Border Liaison Officer for 5 years (cumulative), Assistant Legal Attache in Monterrey, Mexico for 3 years and Legal Attache in Santiago, Chile with jurisdictional responsibility over Chile, Bolivia and Peru for 5 years.  SSA Perez-Martinez has a Bachelor's Degree in Education (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Puerto Rico.  Prior to joining the FBI, SSA Perez-Martinez was a teacher for 5 years and served in the ARMY National Guard for 11 years obtaining the rank of Captain.  SSA Perez-Martinez has been married for to his beautiful wife for 25 years and is the proud father of their 14-year-old daughter.
