TSA is currently looking for volunteers to assist TSA's Explosives Detection Canine Program at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for May and June.
The following days and times are available:
*Scheduled times are subject to change due to operational needs. If changes are made to your volunteer date, you will be notified as soon as possible. Due to the complexity of timing and coordination, there may be long periods of waiting and the duration of activities can be 1-4 hours. Transportation to the airport will be provided from our designated parking area off 44th street and Van Buren, next to the Double Tree Hotel. Detailed instructions will be emailed with your scheduled decoy date and time confirmation.
We have updated our COVID-19 precautions and are still scheduling one decoy per household. However, we have opened up to friends and family of the person scheduled. If you are able to bring someone along with you, please let us know.
What Does a Decoy Do?
All decoy volunteers must be at least 18 years old with a government issued I.D. Decoys provide support by aiding in reality based training drills and scenarios. Decoys will be equipped with a concealed training aid and participate in real life airport activities in areas where a Passenger Screening Canine Unit is conduction search activity.
After you signed up for the TSA's Explosives Detection Canine Program at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport please also send e-mail to Events@FBIPCAAA.org for tracking our community outreach hours.
